Florida Injury Attorney Monica Besbris Smyth, Esq

Monica Besbris Smyth Esq
Biography:

Monica is an associate trial attorney with Todd E. Copeland and Associate PA. Monica’s practice at the firm focuses on litigating personal injury matters. Relationships and communication are important to Monica. She takes pride in taking the time to establish both with her clients, so she can truly tell her client’s story.

Monica is a Florida native, who was born and raised in south Florida and now calls central Florida home. Monica graduated from Maryville College in Tennessee with a B.A. in International Business, where she played NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer for four years. She completed her J.D. at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During her time in law school, Monica interned for the Honorable Jeffrey Levenson of the 17th Judicial Circuit. Monica also served as an Executive Board Member for the NSU Moot Court Society, where she not only competed in several nationwide Moot Court Competitions, but also dedicated her time to mentoring members of the NSU Community. Ultimately, her passion for advocacy earned her the prestigious honor of admission to the Order of the Barristers.

Upon passing the bar, Monica relocated to Orlando and has since dedicated her practice to solely representing the injured. Prior to joining the firm, Monica worked at a large plaintiff’s personal injury law firm where she represented injured clients statewide in car crashes and in premise liability cases, and saw multiple cases through to trial.

There is no challenge too big or small for Monica. Monica is a natural problem solver and enjoys the challenges that each of her cases bring.

Monica is an active member of the Florida Justice Association, the Orange County Bar Association and the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association. Monica is involved in the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Justice Association, where she is involved in  planning an annual mock trial competition for law students, and also serves as a mentor for law students through the Orange County Bar Association.

Outside the office, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, their two dogs (Kali and Rona), making others laugh, reading books on her kindle and playing golf.
