Orlando Motor Vehicle Accident Lawyers
If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, we understand just how much it can bring life as you know it to a halt. The crash wasn’t your fault, but now you are the one left dealing with the aftermath: recovering from your injuries, fixing your car, going to doctor’s appointments, and missing work in between.
During this uncertain time, it is not uncommon for insurance companies or large companies to try to take advantage of the situation and try to resolve your claim for less money, while you are still recovering.
We’ve gone up against the insurance companies for years, and they know that we will not be intimidated by their size or budget.

How to Recover Compensation After a Motor Vehicle Accident in Orlando
Getting injured in a car crash caused by someone else’s negligence opens up multiple avenues to recover compensation. The sources of recovery available to you will depend on your unique situation and the applicable insurance coverages. Our motor vehicle accident attorneys will guide you through each step of the claims process and fight for maximum payout on your behalf.
Filing a PIP Claim
As Florida is a no-fault state, we will immediately file a claim with your personal injury protection (PIP) auto insurance policy to recover compensation for up to 80% of your medical bills and 60% of your lost wages. Your PIP policy may also cover some household services and child care if your injuries cause you to be unable to perform necessary tasks.
Filing a Third-Party Claim
Once your PIP policy limits are reached, we will help you pursue a third-party claim against the at-fault driver’s bodily injury liability insurance carrier to recover damages if a policy is available. If the claim is successful, you will recover 100% of your lost wages, medical bills, and pain and suffering damages up to the policy limits.
Filing a Lawsuit
If the insurance companies refuse to offer a fair settlement amount, we will file a personal injury lawsuit. Our experienced attorneys are prepared to take your case to trial to get you the money you deserve.
Identifying Other Sources of Recovery
Sometimes, additional sources of recovery may be available to motor vehicle accident victims. These include, but are not limited to: MedPay, health insurance, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, and other types of legal action, like a product liability lawsuit if a defective vehicle part caused the crash.
What Do Motor Vehicle Accident Cases Include?
Motor vehicle accident cases are not limited to car accidents or commercial truck accidents. Various types of incidents fall under the category of motor vehicle accidents. Examples include:
Motorcycle Accidents
Because riders are extremely vulnerable on the roads with very little protection, motorcycle accidents often result in catastrophic injuries like brain trauma, spinal cord injuries, road rash, fractures, and more. Common causes of motorcycle crashes include:
- Driver inattention or failure to see motorcyclists
- Dangerous lane changes
- Drunk or impaired driving
- Defective motorcycle components
- Hazardous road conditions
Our lawyers have decades of experience handling motorcycle crash cases and securing maximum compensation for injured riders.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Accidents
When cyclists or pedestrians are struck by a motor vehicle, even at low speeds, the injuries can be life-altering or even deadly. Common bicycle and pedestrian accident injuries include:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Spinal cord damage
- Broken bones
- Internal injuries
- Permanent disabilities
Our legal team helps victims and their families get the money they need to pay for their medical treatment, replace their lost wages, and compensate them for their pain and suffering.
Boat Accidents
Boating accidents can occur due to operator inattention or inexperience, equipment failure, hazardous conditions, and more. Injuries may be caused by:
- Colliding with another vessel
- Getting struck by the propeller
- Getting thrown overboard
Our attorneys represent victims of all types of recreational and commercial boat crashes.

What Is Modified Comparative Negligence?
When pursuing compensation after a motor vehicle accident in Florida, the doctrine of modified comparative negligence comes into play. This legal principle can have a major impact on the amount of damages you are able to recover.
Under modified comparative negligence, an injured person can still recover compensation even if they were partially at fault for causing the accident. However, their total damages award will be reduced by the person’s percentage of fault.
For example, if you were deemed 30% responsible for the crash, you would only be able to recover 70% of the calculated damages.
The key distinction of Florida’s “modified” comparative negligence is that you are completely barred from recovering anything if you are found to be 50% or more at fault.
So if the evidence shows you were 50% or more to blame for the accident, you will be unable to collect any compensation from other at-fault parties – no matter how injured you were.
This makes it crucial to work with an experienced motor vehicle accident attorney at our law firm. We will gather evidence to minimize any allegations of comparative negligence and work to assign the majority of fault to the other parties involved.
By limiting your percentage of fault as much as possible, our attorneys can maximize the compensation you ultimately recover for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages related to your injuries.
